Job Title of Opening: Civil Engineer (Traffic)
Research impact of new construction on existing traffic flows and prepare reports to meet clients requirements. In conjunction with management, meeting with clients in order to determine requirements and scope of work. This requires analysis of survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other data to plan projects leading to the preparation of reports pertaining to development proposals, environmental impact statements, or property and right-of-way descriptions. Evaluate both existing and projected traffic based on the nature of the development, existing road conditions, population projections, zoning and use. Perform data analysis utilizing traffic analysis software Synchro, Sidra, CORSIM and VISSIM (software developed to aid in traffic analysis and operations). Prepare reports that detail the results of the analysis. These reports summarize results and provide recommendations to mitigate impact and alternatives. These reports include traffic impact studies, corridor studies, and safety studies. Will as required design signals and other traffic control devices and pavement markings. Estimate the impact of new development and make recommendations. Would prepare preliminary cost reports. As required will inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards. As requested by interested governmental agencies will evaluate systemic traffic problems (e.g. bottlenecks, highly accident locations) in order to determine the cause and provide solutions to address and mitigate. This position requires a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 1 year of experience.
